Mrs. Georgia Mae Sharp, age 94, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Gilmer Nursing Home. Mrs. Sharp was born on October 29, 1922 in Fannin County, GA to the late Albert Patterson and Julia Stepp Patterson. She was the oldest member of her beloved Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Willard Sharp; son, William James Sharp and was the last surviving child of the family.

She is survived by her son, Roscoe (Sonya) Sharp of Ellijay, GA; daughter, Janette Davis of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, William Scott (Aletha) Sharp, Roscoe Sharp, Jr., Dustin (Brandy) Sharp, Haley (Steven) Smith and Joshua (Heather) Davis; great grandchildren, Kegan Sharp, Chloe Sharp, Brooke Sharp, Chase Sharp, Sydney Smith, Amber-Lynne Davis and Gracie Sharp.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Music will be by Melvin and Glenda Davis along with the choir of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: William Scott Sharp, Roscoe Sharp, Jr., Dustin Sharp, Joshua Davis, Kegan Sharp and Chase Sharp. Mrs. Sharp will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour. Friends may visit the family Friday evening from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
