Mr. Gregory Stephen Young: Obituary

Gregory Stephen Young, age 62 of Blue Ridge, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Young was born December 12, 1954 in Rome, GA, to the late Billy Young and the late Glenda Ballard Young. He was a graduate of West Rome High School and Shorter College. Mr. Young served as minister of music for several churches in Georgia as well as a music evangelist in the southeast.

Survivors include: wife, Pat Young, son, Josh (Mallory) Young, daughter, Mary Beth (Michael) Williams, daughter, Anna Ruth (Nathan) Smith, grandson, Elliott Young, sister, Malinda Young, sister, Jane Gavette, many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:30PM from the Blue Ridge First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Richardson and Rev. Terrell Ruis officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include John Flanigan, Edward Carroll, Matthew Carroll, Andrew Carroll, Brad Carroll and Jake Carroll.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, February 11, 2017, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
