West Fannin’s Upcycling STEM Fair was a big success!

West Fannin Elem

Our Upcycling STEM Fair was a big success! We had over 50 students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade voluntarily participate. We were so impressed with the projects and the effort from our students.  Each project was available to buy via silent auction and we had numerous bidding wars. Students had to compute the total cost of their project, taking into account materials and time, in order to figure out if they had a profit or a loss. We raised a little over a $1,000 for our STEM program.

Thank you to our PTO for providing prize money. There were 3 different levels of prizes. Kitty Davis from 3 Monkeys came to pick an overall winner from each grade level. Congratulations to Reese Lewis (3rd), Anthony Herrera (4th), and Adriana Allen (5th). These students won $75 and a Unicorn Spit party for their class (this is a paint 3 Monkey’s uses…check it out). Highest bid in each grade level took home $50, congratulations to Reese Lewis (3rd), Alexia Bennett (4th), and Matthew Ensley (5th). The final award was for judges choice and these students won $25. Congratulations to Roy Green (3rd), Natalie Bottongino (4th), and Blake Carroll (5th).

Thank you parents for helping, encouraging, and participating!
