Mr. Linda Ruth Hughes: Obituary

Linda Ruth Hughes, age 56, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 in Blue Ridge, GA. Born on June 25, 1960 in Copperhill, TN, she was the daughter of Willard Sluder and Jewell Patterson Sluder. She was a member of Welcome Hill #2 Baptist Church. She worked as a horticulturalist at Quinn’s Greenhouse. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. She is preceded in death by her father, Willard John Sluder.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Edwin Hughes of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kassandra Waters of McCaysville; grandchildren, Abigail Waters and Patterson Waters of McCaysville; mother, Jewell Patterson Sluder of Blue Ridge; brother and sister-in-law, James and Brenda Sluder of Blue Ridge; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel of Blue Ridge with Rev. Max Pittman officiating.
