Clara J. Harris, age 66, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Marietta, GA. Mrs. Harris was born in Fannin County on August 11, 1950 to the late Sanford Cantrell and Ruby Foster Cantrell. She was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. She worked at Levi’s Hosiery Mill for several years. She attended Pickens County Technical School and became an LPN and spent the last 20 years taking care of the elderly.
She is survived by her husband, H.L. Harris of Mineral Bluff, GA; two sons, Terry Harris and Barry L. Harris, both of Union City, GA; daughter, April Harris of Fannin County, GA; brothers, William Cantrell and Tommy Cantrell, both of Fannin County, GA; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Scott Baugh officiating. Music was by the Hipps Chapel Choir and Jonathan Hughes. Pallbearers were Doyle Garland, Johnny Harris, Leonard Hunter, John P. Foster, Terry Harris, and Jamie Cantrell. Interment followed in Hot House Church Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
