Animal classification is an important part of 5th grade science  (GPS). As part of our STEM program at West Fannin Elementary, teachers consistently integrate and incorporate state mathematics standards and science standards. In preparation for 5th grade’s upcoming animal classification STEM challenge, Dr. Deanna Belyeu, a Veterinarian with Ocoee Animal Hospital visited WFES on Wednesday, January 18th. Dr. Belyeu assisted our 5th grade students with the animal classification process with the help of a rabbit, a Chinese water dragon, a parakeet, a rose hair tarantula, and a bumblebee python.
