Mr. Roger Dale Hopper: Obituary

Roger Dale Hopper, age 66 of Cherrylog, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Hopper was born October 10, 1950 in Litchfield, IL to the late Clarence Hopper and the late Edna Settles Hopper. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Roger Dale Hopper, Jr., Jeffrey Hopper and Skip Hopper and one brother, Mike Hopper. Roger served his country bravely enlisting in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was one of the first mine dog handlers in Vietnam. In his spare time he enjoyed watching and feeding birds.

Survivors include his devoted companion, Vernice Newberry, son and daughter-in-law, Roger Daniel and Jessica Hopper, five sisters, three brothers, and four grandchildren, Zachary Hopper, Elizabeth Hopper, Ryan Dale Hopper and Isaiah Hopper.

Funeral services will be held at the families discretion.
