Mr. Michael Young Postell: Obituary

Michael Young Postell age 64 Years of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home. He was born on February 22, 1952 in McCaysville, GA to the late Young William and Anna Mildred Arp Postell. Michael was a construction iron worker and a member of the Atlanta Chapter of Iron Workers Local #387 International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers. He was of the Baptist faith. Michael served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Denise Tanner Postell.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Sean Ratcliff of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Tanner and Michael Ratcliff of Canton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Postell of Mineral Bluff, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Jeff George of McCaysville, GA; nieces, Hayley Miller and Macy Lowe; and nephew, Isaac George.

Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made online at www.woundedwarriorproject.com.
