Mr. Michael Owen, “M.O.” Harper, age 60, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Perry Owen and Barbara Brookshire Harper. Mr. Harper was a former resident of Douglas County, GA and had retired to the Mineral Bluff Community for the last two years. He retired from the Douglas County Sheriffs office after 35 years of devoted service obtaining the rank of Colonel.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Connie Harper; son, Matthew Owen Harper of Douglas County, GA; daughter, Jessica Englette of Blairsville, GA; granddaughter, Adie Englette; two sisters, Yvette Rushing of Savannah, GA and Tammy Eley of Dawsonville, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation in honor of M.O. will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home at 7871 Blue Ridge Dr. Blue Ridge, GA 30513. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
