Mr. Luther James Rhodes: Obituary

Luther James Rhodes, age 93 of Morganton, passed away November 13, 2016 at Life Care Center of Copper Basin. Luther Rhodes was born April 7, 1923 in Morganton, GA. A member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. He retired from City Services Chemical Company where he was employed for thirty two years and enjoyed playing original Blue Grass Music, he was preceded in death by his wife, Verdie May Rhodes, son, Everett Rhodes, brothers and sisters, Sylva, Marie, Opal, Arlis, Erith, Paxton, Grace, Ester.

Survivors include: son, J. B. & Shirley Rhodes, son, Winston & Vicki Rhodes, daughter in law, Betty Rhodes, grandchildren, Marty Rhodes, Monica (Eric) Ross, Terry (Carla) Sparks, Kristie (Terry) Gibbs, Doug (Kristin) Rhodes, Miranda (Josh) Chancey, great grandchildren, Kaia Rhodes, Peyton Chancey, Abram Chancey, Jacob Sparks, Joey Sparks, Austin Rhodes, Marley Rhodes, Tristan Ross, Collin Ross, Kegan Ross, Veronica Ross, sister and brother, Gladys and H.A.

Funeral services: Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, Morganton, GA. with Rev. Tim Garrett and Rev. Trammell Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Doug Rhodes, Marty Rhodes, Terry Gibbs, Ray Watkins, Arnold Watkins & Junior Burnett.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday, November 15, 2016, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. In lieu of flower the family would like donations made to Liberty Hill United Methodist Church cemetery fund.
