Fannin County High School FFA members Kat Mathus and Montana Pearson competed in the Area 1 Floral Design Career Development Event Competition at Cass High School in Cartersville on September 27. Kat competed in the junior division competition where she had to design 2 floral arrangements. Montana Pearson competed in the senior division where she had to design a floral arrangement, complete an identification test, as well as an floral industry exam.
Montana ranked silver while Kat received a bronze.
Fannin County High School FFA members Shellbie Cruse and Montana Pearson exhibited their commercial beef heifers at the Georgia National Fair Livestock Show in Perry on October 7-8. Both young ladies showed in their respective showmanship classes and heifer weight classes as well as competing in the herdsman competition. The heifers are owned by the FFA members and are their Supervised Agriculture Experience Projects for the year, they will both also be exhibiting them in the Georgia Jr National livestock Show which will be held in Perry in February.
