Mrs. Lucy Jane Watson Postell: Obituary

Mrs. Lucy Jane Watson Postell, age 86, of Epworth, GA passed away October 9, 2016. Born in Epworth, GA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Martha Adeline Foster Watson. She was a loving wife of seventy years, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Mrs. Postell was a life long caregiver who loved flowers, gardening and sewing. She was a long time member of the Helping Hand Fellowship Church. She was also preceded in death by a two grandsons, Jesse and Matthew Pope and one great grandson, Dillon Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Jess Postell; daughters and sons-in-laws, Ellen and Donnie Pope, Arnold and Sue Postell, Carol and George Watkins all of Epworth, GA, Althea and Jim Davenport of Blue Ridge, GA, David Postell and Brenda and Dusty Patterson also of Epworth, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Bonnie Watson of Dalton, GA; seventeen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday October 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Hawkins and Rev. Jennings Neeld officiating. Music was provided by Sherry and Lacey Walden and other grandchildren, Rev. Denny Hawkins and Seth Davis. Interment followed in the Helping Hand Fellowship Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mark Pope, John Postell, Jason Postell, Anthony “Peanut” Watkins, Shane Davenport, Mason Postell, Morgan Postell and Adam Bradburn.
