Mrs. Martha Faye Nicholson: Obituary

Mrs. Martha Faye Nicholson, age 74, of Farner, TN, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. Faye was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late Paul and Aleece Kimsey. She was a member of the Farner Presbyterian Church where she served as Treasurer of the Women of the Church for many years, also she had served as a session member. Faye had worked at the Turtletown Elementary School in the cafeteria for more than thirty years. After the closing of the school, she was employed at Hardee’s in Ducktown since it opened. Anyone who knew her knew she loved her family and her grandchildren. She loved to garden, hike and was always visiting with someone sick or in the Nursing Home. She even helped every 1st Sunday of the month to serve communion and also delivered cakes to the Nursing Home each month. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ted Nicholson; brothers, Lewis, Randall and Mitchell Kimsey; and one grandson, Dakota Ingle.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Lisa and Dwight Ingle, Leslie and Joleen Nicholson and Gary and Lori Nicholson; grandchildren, Clint Ingle, Brandon Nicholson, Briana Nicholson, Bryce Nicholson, Emily Nicholson, Teddy Nicholson, Cambree Faye Nicholson, Iain Price, Laurel Price and Lindsey Cole; one brother, Dennis Kimsey.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. from the Farner Presbyterian Church with Min. Wayne Carter officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Reid and Michael Colbaugh. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy, Derrick, Tim, Greg, and Darren Kimsey, Wayne Adams and Jason Nicholson. Serving as an honorary escort will be Russell Towl, David Newman, Shawn Taylor and the Men of Farner Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the Turtletown Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill, TN is in charge of the arrangements.
