Mary Morehead Hunt, age 85, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on August 28, 2016. She was born in Parkersburg, WV to the late Fred and Florence Prather Morehead. She graduated in 1949 from Wirt Co. High School. She later graduated from Alderson Broaddus College in 1954 with her Bachelors in Nursing. She had worked for a number of years at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware. Mrs. Hunt was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had volunteered her time in several ways such as a Brownie Troop Leader, teaching Sunday School, singing in the Choir and as a voting poll worker in Marietta for several years. She enjoyed Square Dancing with her late Husband, Milton Dean Hunt, Sr., playing bridge, and playing the Piano. Mary was a member of the Cherry Log Christian Church. Her sister, Virginia Neely also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Milton Dean Hunt, Jr. and Rhonda of Talking Rock, GA; daughter, Denise Hunt of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Adam Hunt, Rachel Reid and Leah Reid; brother-in-law, Frank Neely of PA.
Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Cherry Log Christian Church with Dr. Robin Norsworthy officiating. Music was provided by the Church Choir, Richard Lumpkin, and Birdie Powell. Interment followed in the Georgia National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. in Canton, GA. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the Craddock Center at P.O. Box 69 Cherry Log, GA 30522 or to the Fannin County Family Connection Center at 101 Industrial Park Rd.
