Mr. Kenneth Claude Odum: Obituary

Kenneth Claude Odum, age 75 of Blue Ridge passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Odum was born on April 22, 1941 in Fannin County to the late Elick and Edna Puckett Odum. He retired from Levi Strauss Company after thirty-two years as a machine operator. Mr. Odum was a member of New River Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Odum and sisters, Nellie Mae Odum Searcey and Jenie Ruth Odum Walker.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Odum, three daughters, Cheryl Odum Walker of Hiram, GA, Sherry Odum Clark of Ellijay, GA and Serena Odum Watkins of Epworth, GA and six grandchildren, Zachary Walker, Tyler Welch, Libby Welch, William Kenneth Walker, Isaac Watkins and Isla Watkins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Mike Collis officiating. Music will be provided by The Spiritual Echoes. Pallbearers will be Alan Walker, Zachary Walker, William Walker, Brad Watkins, James McGill, Danny Puckett and Lamar Fendley. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 12, 2016, after 1:00 p.m. but especially from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
