Mrs. Ann Payne Powell, age 94, of Dalton, GA passed away July 31, 2016. Born n Adairsville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Ola Herndon Payne. Mrs. Powell loved reading and enjoyed animals. She also loved growing wildflowers and canning the vegetables grown by her late husband, Winfred Powell. Annette was the last of twelve siblings. She had worked for a number of years for Coronet Industries in payroll services and was a long time member of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ. Her son, Frank Powell, also precedes her in death.

Survivors include two grandchildren and their spouses, Kip and Cathy Powell and Shannon and Tim Britton; and four great grandchildren, Tyler Britton, Clay Britton, Elizabeth Powell and Sydney Powell.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Terry Stuart officiating. Music will be by David Chapman. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Church of Christ 222 Harris Dr. Blue Ridge, GA 30513 or to the Blue Ridge Humane Society at 171 Mineral Springs Rd.
