Raymond “Ray” Marion Haren, age 80, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home Palmetto surrounded by family. He was born November 15, 1935 in Epworth, GA to the late John and Nora Haren.
Ray owned his own business for 40 years, doing both construction and paving. He was around racing his entire life, so much so he was one of the founding members of NASCAR. He built and ran Rebel Speedway Go-Kart in the 80’s and 90’s which launched several professional racing careers. Racing was one of many things Ray enjoyed in life but what he always made sure came first was family.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Zackery Clepper, Rachel Roye, John Michael Haren and Charles Garner and sister Virginia Phillips and her husband James. Along with a list of nieces and nephews Ray will be missed by many close family and friends.
