Mrs. Naomi Mary Smith Boyd: Obituary

Mrs. Naomi Mary Smith Boyd, age 75, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on July 13, 2016 in Chattanooga, TN following a brief illness. Born in South Bend, IN, she was the daughter of the late Leo Roach and Mary Zehner Smith. Mrs. Boyd was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed traveling, camping and was a creative person. She along with her husband owned and operated Walter Fuel Company for several years in New Port Richey, FL. Later they moved to Blue Ridge, GA where they operated Thomas Construction Company for twenty five years building many homes in the Tri-State area.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Thomas Andrew Boyd; sons, Landon Thomas Boyd and wife Stacey, and Theodore Andrew Boyd; daughters, Vonda Mary Bartlett and Judith Ann Guzman; brothers, Leo and Marvin Smith; sisters, Dorothy Smith, Patricia Lahne and Juanita Cavney; six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. John Connor, Min. Tim Pounds and Min. Thomas Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions can be made to the Mayo Clinic at www.mayoclinic.org or to the charity of your choice.
