July 4th in Fannin County

News

Water, fireworks, friends, food – what better way to celebrate being part of a nation that is indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Here are some places where you can take part in our nation’s birthday party.

Friday

Boat Parade – Light Up the Lake Boat Parade starts at 8 pm at Lake Blue Ridge. Boats gather at Lakewood Boat Ramp and Parade towards the dam.  Boats can be seen from Morganton Point, the Dam and points in between.  Lake Blue Ridge Marina will be closed  at this time as it is preparing for tomorrow night’s fireworks.

Block Party – First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill from 6:30 to 9 pm

Fireworks – pre-fireworks activities are start at 1 pm in Downtown McCaysville.  Fireworks are at  Tater Hill at 9:15

Miner’s Homecoming –  starting at 4 pm the Hoist House in Ducktown

Saturday

Parade –Old Timers Parade starts at 10 am at the corner of East Main and Church in downtown Blue Ridge

Lake Blue Ridge Fireworks – starts around 9 pm at the Lake Blue Ridge Marina.  Starting at 4 pm, the County Outlaws Band will begin performing at the Marina.  Think about how you will drive to the marina because Hwy. 76 at the dam will be closed from 6 pm to 10 pm.

Miner’s Homecoming – starting at 7 am in Ducktown.  Day’s events includes breakfast, 5K run, open house at Glen Springs Holdings, soup bean dinner at Masonic Lodge, gospel music, rubber duck race, classic car show, free admission to Ducktown Basin Museum and fireworks at 9:30.

Monday

Old Fashioned Fourth – starts at 8 am at Epworth Community Club with a pancake breakfast.
