The Fannin County Recreation Department 10U All-Stars achieved the status of 2016 District Runner-Up last weekend, after battling through the tournament held in Jefferson.
After winning the tournament opener against Union County 20-18 June 17, Fannin fell to the consolation bracket with a 15-0 loss to White County June 18.
The comeback started with a 17-7 win over Dawson County and a 10-9 triumph over the hosting Dragons June 19. Fannin returned June 20 to topple Hall County 13-11 and White County 6-5. In the title game against Lumpkin County, Fannin fell in a hard-fought 13-11 contest to claim the District Runner-Up Trophy.
