Evelyn Newberry Harris, age 92, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Mrs. Harris was born in Fannin County to the late Augusta Earl and Gustie Falls Newberry. She had worked at Lifecare Center of Copper Basin as a Nurses Aid and was a member of Hot House Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Harris, sons, Ronald Harris and William Lynn Harris and four grandsons, Chris Barton, Kenny Harris, Andy Harris and Shannon Harris.
She is survived by son, Gary Harris of Mineral Bluff, GA; two daughters, Becky Bailey of Blue Ridge, GA, Linda Barton of Mineral Bluff, GA; sister, Maxine Farmer of Chamblee, GA; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; eight great – great grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 7th at 12:00 noon from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Danny Queen officiating. Music will be by Melinda Briant. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill (airport road) Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
