Fannin County EMS responded to two fires last week, both of them kitchen fires, with one of kitchen fires resulting in heavy damage to a home.
On Saturday, April 30 the Fire Department responded to a call about a kitchen fire at a house on Weaver Creek Road. By time units arrived, flames were already licking out from the house. It took the fire department one and one-half hours to stub out the fire. Georgia Forestry Service also responded to make sure the fire didn’t move from the house into the adjacent woods.
On Friday, April 29, Sue’s Best Burgers had a grill fire. The building was evacuated for a short time for safety. First responders easily extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher and the restaurant reopened.
