Mr. Jewell Lee Jones, better known as “Jake”, age 87, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away April 27, 2016. Born in Fayette County, GA, he was the son of the late William Kenneth Jones and Susie Smith Jones. He was a retired truck driver for Trans US Trucking Line. He was a member of the Tri State Christian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his loving wife, Effie E. Jones of Blue Ridge, GA; son Randall L. Jones of Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Miguel Vila; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Burnice Carden of Inman, GA; grandchildren, Lee Jones, Matthew Jones, Christina Cochran and Miguel Vila II; great grandchildren, Stella Jones and Wyatt Cochran.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Miguel Vila and Rev. Ed Stamey officiating. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
