Mrs. Freda Lou Mathis, age 89, of Sarasota, FL passed away Friday, April 8, 2016. Mrs. Mathis was born in Copperhill to the late Thomas and Lura Sisson Fowler. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Mathis and son, Bobby Mathis.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Patty Mathis; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dave Abrell; sister, Ruth Hughes; daughter-in-law, Darlene Mathis; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 15th at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Claude Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill (Airport Road) cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
