Becky Callihan Seeks Third Term as Coroner

My name is Becky Callihan. I have lived in this area all my life. I am married to Don Callihan. We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. I am a Paramedic fire fighter for Fannin County.

I am running for Coroner in Fannin County. This will be my third term serving Fannin County as Coroner. I am so blessed to be able to do this job. It is a blessing to help families going throw the hardest thing in most people’s lives, the death of a loved one. I am honored to have several Pastors throughout Fannin County helping me help these families. I also have two Deputies that do an outstanding job.

The Coroner’s job is to do death investigations to determine the cause and manner of death. We work with local and state law enforcement as well as local Probate offices and funeral homes to ensure that the families receive their loved one’s death certificate in a timely manner.  Doctors in the state of Georgia can only sign a death certificate if it is a natural death; all other death certificates have to go through the Coroner’s office to be investigated and death certificate sign by the Coroner. To keep my certification, I am trained in death investigation and attend training every year.
