It was a historic day for the Fannin County High School golf team yesterday, as it hosted its first-ever match at Old Toccoa Farm Golf Course against 515 rival Pickens.
The Rebels fell 164-192, while the Lady Rebels dropped their match 152-178 to the Dragonettes.
Austin Panter shot the lowest score for the boys, recording a 46 for the day. Shane Stepp was just behind with a 47, while Alex Chastain posted a 49. Ben Bruce shot a 50, while Michael Arp and Andrew Ladd both finished their day with a 53.
For the JV round, Ryan Beavers shot a 54. Hunter Crowder recorded a 56, while Colton Carpenter had a 67.
Bailey Whitener was the low scorer for the Lady Rebels, finishing with a 58. Aubree Pack had a 59, while Presley Porter shot a 61 and Samantha Henson was just behind with a 62.
Fannin will welcome Gilmer tomorrow, for a 4 p.m. tee time.
