West Fannin Elementary School STEM 2nd Grade

The WFES Second grade has been learning about energy and the difference between renewable and non-renewable sources of energy. Our unit took about 3 weeks to complete.

Challenge activity:

Design a wind turbine that turns fast and efficiently. Students test with a fan to determine how well it works. Students will count the number of rotations per minute to see how quickly it moves. The used supplies such as straws, paper, cardstock, foam board, tinker toys, dowel rods, play dough, and push pins.

All students are from Mrs. Callihan’s class.
