Rev. Roy Edward Clore, age 87, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Thursday, January 28, 2015 at his home. Rev. Clore was born in Mineral Bluff, GA on September 13, 1928 to the late Ed Clore and Nancy Adams Clore. He worked as an Electrician for Tennessee Chemical Company. Rev. Clore was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church for over 60 years. He has been preaching since 1969 but was ordained in August of 1970. Rev. Clore has served at many area church in the tri-state area. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Clore; a son-in-law, Huey Prince; brothers, Buford Clore, Everette Clore, and Earl Clore; and sisters, Bertha Mote, Vinnie Roper, and Ruth Shields.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Blanche P. Clore of Mineral Bluff, GA; daughters, Mary Lou Prince of Mineral Bluff and Sharon (Randy) Deal of Copperhill, TN; daughter-in-law, Katie Clore of Chatsworth, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Sue Clore of Smyrna, GA and Hayne and Virginia Clore of Mineral Bluff, GA; sister-in-law, Thelma Clore or Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Crystal (Kevin) McNeal, Veronica (Doug) Stover, Miachelle (Darrell) Fox, Davin (Jade) Prince, Angel (David) Dickey, Tina (Neal) Murphy. Tessa (Cody) Rogers, and Trevis Deal; great grandchildren, Morgan Laney, Seth Fox, Dakota Fox, Devin Prince, Ashlynn Prince, Carter & Bentley, Hudson Murphy, Lawson Murphy; great great grandchildren, Zadyn Laney and Leyton Laney; nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Paul Ray Morgan, Rev. Joe Dan Wilkins, and Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Music will be by Tinker Bailey, Linda Ware, Ivy Bice, Diana Bice, and Darrell Fox. Pallbearers will be Davin Prince, Doug Stover, Darrell Fox, Trevis Deal, Neal Murphy, Cody Rogers, and Kevin McNeal. Honorary pallbearers will be all area ministers, Tinker Bailey, Jamie Bailey, James Davenport, Randall Bailey, Roy Truelove, Lowell Thomas, Ethridge Ware, Lee Davis, and Gary Ensley. Honorary escort will be Morgan, Seth, Dakota, Devin, Ashlynn, Hudson, and Lawson. Interment will follow in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Rev. Clore may be made to Pruitt Health Hospice 6050 Appalachian Hwy.
