Janet Belinda Dilbeck Payne: Obituary

Janet Belinda Dilbeck Payne, age 42 of the Mobile Community of McCaysville, GA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2016 after a seven year fight with inflammatory breast cancer. Janet was a devout Christian and her unwavering faith during her battle touched many hearts and lives. She loved working with kids, teaching Sunday School and leading Youth Choir for many years. She also enjoyed bargain hunting and going out to eat. Janet was born on September 27, 1973 at Copper Basin Hospital and grew up in Ducktown. She was a 1991 graduate of Copper Basin High School. Prior to her illness, she worked as a cosmetologist at the Copper Basin Life Care Center for thirteen years and then studied and trained for ParaPro Certification at West Fannin Elementary School. Janet attended Mobile Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of twenty-three years, Shannon Payne; her children, Conner and Alexis Payne all of the home; her parents, Alden and Nora Dilbeck of Ducktown, TN; mother-in-law, Vellanea Reed of Mobile, GA; father-in-law, Bill (Trisha) Payne of Epworth, GA; a brother, Keith Dilbeck of Postelle, TN and his fiancée, Melissa Duggan of Turtletown, TN; three sisters-in-law, Roxie (John) Trovato of Cleveland, TN, Amanda (Jason) Bradburn of Mineral Bluff, GA and Jessica Payne of Fort Payne, AL; two nieces and three nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Reverend Buddy Carter and Reverend Hoyt Carr officiating. Music will be by Jennifer Danner, Ed Vest Jan Pelfrey and Victoria Gobble. Interment will follow in the Ducktown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Travato, Jason Bradburn, Alex Hawkins, Troy Dillard, Matt Hawkins and Dale Fortner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond Ross, Paul Hunter, Donald Keys, Steve Orton, Morris Jones, Jim Hutcheson, Tommy Hayes, Dale Dilbeck and Ray Hawkins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, January 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
