Mr. Billy Joe Payne, age 76 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Mr. Payne was born March 14, 1939 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Howard Homer Payne and Joyce A. Arp Payne. He was a member of Hot House Baptist Church and had retired from Fannin County Road Department. He enjoyed raising cattle and farming, he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Payne and Grady Payne.
Survivors include: sisters, Daisy Barfield, Anna Mae Flowers, Helen Leard, Eva Lou Newton, brothers, James Payne and Cecil Payne, several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Billy’s life will be held: Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:00PM at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Collis and Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating. Music provided by the Kenny O’Neal Family: Interment will follow in Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Charles Cross, Billy Newton, Danny Newton, Harmon Cole and Steve Leard. The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, January 2, 2016, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
