Mrs. Wilma M. Godfrey, age 97, of McCaysville, GA passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 in the Life Care Center of Ducktown, TN. Mrs. Godfrey was born in Mascott, TN on August 22, 1918 to the late Bruce and Anna Myrtle Thrasher Merrell. She attended Kingtown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Rene Godfrey.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rene and Cindy Godfrey of Mineral Bluff; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and David Reeves of Ringgold, GA; sister, Ernal Sue Thomas of McCaysville; five grandchildren, Nicole Born, Natalie Deal, Zack Godfrey, Tim Cochran, and Mark Cochran; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Gary Parris officiating. Music will be by Colby Ledford. Pallbearers will be Zack Godfrey, Adam Born, Jacob Sparks, Tim Cochran, Kendric McDonald, and Justin Mashburn. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memory Garden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamstown Methodist Church Building Fund P.O.
