West Fannin Elem October 23, 2015
West Fannin’s second grade students visited the Oconaluftee Indian Village on Thursday, October 15th. The second grade students saw how the Cherokee Indians made baskets, pottery, weapons and beading. They also heard them speak in their native tongue and enjoyed seeing some of their dances. They visited a replica of a Council House and learned about the seven clans of the Cherokee and about the different types of leaders they had.
