Mr. Douglas McArthur Adams, age 73, of Rome, GA passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Mt. Berry Hospice Center in Rome, GA. Mr. Adams was born on August 17, 1942 in Fannin County, GA to the late Jessie Vincent Adams and Viola Elizabeth Walker Adams. Mr. Adams worked as a mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service, was President of the Georgia Association for the Deaf, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his former wife and friend, Linda Newberry of Cartersville, GA; sons and daughters in law, Robert Douglas and Karrie Adams of Cartersville, GA and Randy Marc and Michelle Adams of Canton, GA; daughter and son in law, Rhonda and Joey Ingram of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Paul Ezelle, and Heather Brooke Ingram; and a brother, Ben Adams of Suches, GA.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Osborne officiating. Interment will follow with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Joseph Ingram, Harrison McDonald, Charles Pendley, Scott Adams, and Greg Adams.
