Tyson Foods, Inc. Speaks to BRES Alpha Students

Blue Ridge Elem

On September 3rd, Eric Maltman from Tyson Foods Inc. in Cumming, GA spoke to the Alpha students at Blue Ridge Elementary School.  Mr. Maltman is the Tyson Foods Inc. Wastewater Manager at the Cumming, GA location. He spoke to the students about the concept of industrial wastewater treatment.  The students had the opportunity to see different water samples from each stage in the treatment process and learn exactly what happens during each stage.  The students also received a first-hand look through a microscope at one of the slug bugs that cleans the bacteria in the water.  This was a wonderful prequel to BRES WATER QUALITY STEM DAY that the students will be taking part in on Tuesday, September 15th.
