“But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?” James 2:18-20.
God our Father and Redeemer, You have delivered us from the terrible awayness that once described our condition. We were so far away from you and you drew us unto yourself.
It is eye opening to us to realize that the demons believe the truths of the Bible just as we do. But belief apart from the saving knowledge of Christ avails nothing because this relationship leads on to good works in his name.
These two kinds of faith point out to us the one that is real and in this reality we rejoice today!
