Daily Prayer: 08/14

“Have the mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” Philippians 2:5-7.

Lord Jesus, although you were God, you became like us so that we could become more like you. Your descent from Creator to creature is amazing in our eyes. Our minds ask, “What would prompt you to do this?” The answer is always love.

We are taught in scripture to have the same spirit of humility among people. If we can be truly humble, we will have no difficulty being servants.

We pray today for all believers who deeply want to be more like servants. Help us to serve the “whosoevers” may be in need.

Amen.
