“Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always, Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.” Philippians 1:19-20.
O Lord Jesus, how much do we depend on the prayers of others when we face impossible situations! Just to know that our fellow believers are placing our needs on the throne of grace is life-giving encouragement. We have a need to depend on you, Lord, but we also have a need to depend on our Christian family.
We do not want to be ashamed of how we act when we face life or death decisions. We desire to have an inner courage that can only come from our faith in you that you will hear and answer the prayers according to your will. Thank you for the many times you have delivered us from health failures, from harm by evil forces, and from the foolishness of ourselves.
Give this person who now prays the courage to face whatever life presents today.
Amen.
