Daily Prayer: 08/08

“I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ.” Philippians 1:12-13.Our Father in Heaven, we want to know the reasons why things happen to us. We believe that you exercise control over these things and have a purpose behind them. Sometimes, the events are so harsh that we even interpret them as your punishment of us for not living up to your commands.

Help us to see that Jesus promised us, “In this world you will have tribulation.” Even imprisonments like some believers are suffering for the sake of the gospel, can be in your larger plan for the Kingdom. May our faith be wrapped around these events and see in them a way to extend the message of redemption even though we have to suffer. Grant your servants the acceptance of whatever will advance the gospel of Christ.

Amen.
