“It is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11.Lord Jesus, you have given us a growing love for life in the Spirit. What we experience in church is a fellowship of love and acceptance. This Christ-like attitude is winsome for hungry hearted people who want to be loved and brought in to a different dimension of life. It develops character by example for we want to be more than we are.
It is not easy to be Christian in a secular culture, but this is where we are needed. It is difficult to be considered blameless when people are looking for the smallest thing to extinguish our witness.
We pray for Christians to keep their eyes on Christ, their heart in the scriptures, their knees on the floor, and their hands outstretched to “whosoever.”
Amen.
