Daily Prayer: 07/27

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”

Dear Father, thank you for giving us children to love and to guide. It is an awesome responsibility to have a child placed in our care and to know that we can mould that one into a whole personality or into a fractured soul. Being a parent is easy if your love and guidance prevails in the home. It is very difficult if the foundation of a spiritual life is not given them. If children grow in the natural understanding of life, they miss knowing that you have a purpose for them. And that each year can be a step in the direction of fulfillment of their dreams.

Each child is an individual and must be guided in the way that his or her personality and gifts allow. Help parents to see just how much you want from them in the training of their children. May they realize the importance of religious instruction both in the home and in the church. Secular instruction develops a secular child and parents need wisdom to see the potential for good or bad.

Bless the children in the home of this one who now prays. We thank you for the wonder that children bring to our lives. In the name of Jesus who blessed the little children we pray.

Amen.
