Daily Prayer: 07/22

Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Lord Jesus, you said to those who believe in you, “I call you friends.” It is such a blessing to be called your friends for you walk beside us through every situation. Thank you for befriending us when we were very unfriendly to the ways of the gospel and drawing us into your grace.

We also praise you for the friends that you have given us across the years of our lives. They have given of themselves to be with us when we needed them. We have enjoyed the sheer pleasure of being in their presence. But there have been those special friends with whom we have a long history and have interwoven our lives with theirs. Thank you for giving us friends like that.

Help us to be a friend that can be counted on at all times. In Jesus Name, we pray.
