Two homes had to be evacuated on Thursday evening due to flooding in the Salem Road area of Fannin County. Both homes were rental cabins and the occupants of one of the homes returned to their home in the Atlanta area. The other cabin’s occupants were put up at a local motel by Red Cross.

One road, Jonica Gap Rd, remains closed to thru traffic due to a washed out culvert. A new culvert has been ordered and should be installed this week allowing the road to reopen.
