Matthew 6:9 “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name…”
To touch all that is holy as our day begins is life’s great privilege, Our Father. Your name is holy and we want to hallow it in reverence in all our ways. We desire that you have your proper place in our lives and in our world.
We often hear your name taken in vain by the swearing and cursing of small minded men who have no idea of what they are saying. Nothing is holy to them. They do not know you as “Father.” They allow you no place in their lives. We do not want to be like them but rather we want to uphold your holy name before the world in our thoughts and deeds.
May your name be holy in the family so that the children will learn of your transcendence. We pray that your name will be hallowed in the church so that we will do what you require. It is our desire to see your name held in sacred respect in our culture so that good can come to all through Christ.
Amen.
