Matthew 7:7-8. “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Our Heavenly Father, we love talking to you in prayer. There are times when we have prayed and it looks to us that you have not heard us. We really know so little about prayer and what moves you to act on our behalf. When our children ask us for things we do not ignore them and when they ask for something to eat, we do not give them a stone. Jesus taught us that you are more willing to give good things to us than our parents are and to receive them we are to keep on asking, searching, and knocking – and the answer will come. We will receive what we have asked for, find what we are looking for, and have the doors opened on which we have knocked.
Thank you, Father, for making prayer such an exciting experience. In prayer, we can touch anyone on earth at anytime of day. We can participate with you in the work of the Kingdom. We can place our personal needs before you and see the wondrous ways you will answer.
Give this person who now prays an answer to prayer today. We ask this in the strong name of Jesus.
Amen.
