Matthew 6:22-23 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then, the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness.”
Lord Jesus, you are the light of the world that has shined in our human darkness. You have brought to us an understanding of our purpose and mission in life. Just as the shades are drawn to keep the light out of a room, many have drawn the shades of their hearts and will not allow the light of truth to penetrate them. We see the darkness of sin and confusion in many of the lives we encounter. That darkness is great enough to keep them from you unless someone will shine your light upon them.
We pray today for those who live in the darkness because their minds are blinded to the life that could be theirs in you. But men love the darkness because they do not want to be accountable in the light.
Thank you for giving us a healthy faith that affects every area of our lives. In your light we can see forever!
Amen.
