The Fannin County Board of Education has supported the construction of a radio station to be a part of the technology and music programs at Fannin County High School. Construction has been completed, and WXFC 92.7 FM is currently on the air! It is classified as a “low power” radio station by the FCC, and it covers a majority of Fannin County with good coverage.
The station is currently playing a mix of 70s – 2000s pop/rock hits, and it is our desire that future programming become more diverse, locally-oriented, and student-run. Examples would be music shows, newscasts, sports play-by-play, student music performances, classroom projects, etc.
The radio station will also be a place for the community to turn to for information regarding weather-related school closures and local announcements. The sky is the limit with our future programing.
