Mrs. Lucille Lovell Bridges: Obituary

Mrs. Lucille Lovell Bridges, age 93 of Blairsville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Union County Nursing Home. Mrs. Bridges was born November 22, 1921 in Blairsville, GA to the late John Robert and Arminda Pearl Stephens Lovell. She was a life long resident of Union County and a member of Zebulon Baptist Church. Lucille was first and foremost a loving wife and mother to her 5 children. She also worked for many years in the Union County Schools where she prepared meals. Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by husband, Doyle Bridges, daughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Junior Thomas and daughter-in-law, Bessie Bridges, .

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Junior and Carolyn Bridges of Blairsville, daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Harold Thomas of Blairsville, son, Robert Bridges of Suches, daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Johnny Barnes of Blairsville, and Brother, Randall Lovell of Whitwell, TN, grandchildren, Vickie Gibson, Larry Thomas, Alan Bridges, Brenda Plott, Connie Garrett, Teresa Shaw, Jody Bridges and Greg Barnes, Many great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services: Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Zebulon Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Potts and Rev. R.L. Martin officiating. The body will lie instate at the church Friday from 1:30-2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Larry Thomas, Alan Bridges, Jody Bridges, Ethan Thomas, Ronnie Garrett, and Johnny Barnes.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Thursday, May 21, 2015, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
