Psalm 18:20-22 “The Lord dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he rewarded me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all his rules were before me, and his statutes I did not put away from me.”
Our righteousness is in Christ for we have no claim to it on our own. But Lord, we do have your grace to help us walk in your ways. We can keep your laws. We can keep our hands clean from evil. We do not want to depart from your ways because we have found the place of peace and joy.
There are blessings untold for us who live under your Lordship. You teach us in your word that there is a direct relationship between the way we live and your divine favor. Your rules are for our good and are designed for our well-being. We do not really break them – we break ourselves upon them.
We often wonder, “Why can’t the world understand this?” All you want for us is to trust you and live in fellowship with you and you are willing to bestow the fullness of heaven’s blessings upon us. We praise you in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
