Mr. Robert David Hyde: Obituary

Robert David Hyde, age 70 of Benton, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home with his wife, children and best friend by his side.He was born June 16, 1944 in Copperhill to the late Odas and Audrey Hyde. Mr. Hyde was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tumbling Creek in Copperhill. He retired from Hydro Chem in Holly Springs,GA in 2010. Mr. Hyde had served as a Law Enforcement Officer for Benton City Police Department, a Detective for the Polk County Sheriff’s office from 1982 to 1988 and worked many years for Jones Fabrication in Cleveland. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and witnessing for the Lord to everyone he would meet.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of twenty-five years, Bonnie Hyde; daughters, Stephanie (Casey) Carver of Calhoun TN and Lisa Farner of East Ridge, TN; eight grandchildren, Raven Martinez, BreAnna Martineaux, Drew Lockhart, Drake Lockhart, Catey Carver, Sara Carver, Ashley Farner and Lauren Farner; seven great grandchildren; brother, Windom (Pearl) Hyde of Copperhill, TN; sister, Iva Lou Lock of Ellijay GA; best friends, Charles and Paula Baliles, Ricky and Susie Patterson (brother-in-law/sister-in- law); several nieces; nephews and his favorite four legged friend, Bouncer.

The family will receive friends at Akins of Copperhill Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. There will be no service at this time; only visitation.
