Psalm 84:1 “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” O Lord God, we thank you for the beauty of the places where we worship. Our hearts long to be in your house. We hunger to worship in your presence. Our need for thoughtful introspection about our relationship to you is met in attending our church services. There we are encouraged by other believers. We hear your word proclaimed. We thrill to the great music of our faith. We go away knowing that we have been in the presence of the Eternal.
May our churches be filled with expectant worshippers this Sunday. Your people can be at their best when they have truly worshipped. They can be a blessing to others when they have been inspired to see that they can be useful in your kingdom. They will be more diligent in their jobs. They will be truthful in all their dealings. Their homes will be more of a heaven on earth.
Help all who do not attend church to discover what they are missing. In Jesus Name we pray.
Amen.
